Cut inventory, raise supply capability. Right inside SelectLine.

The SelectLine ERP orders whatever you enter as minimum and target stock. We make sure those values are right: EazyStock computes forecasts and order proposals on your SelectLine data every night, and approved proposals land in purchasing in the morning. Without an ERP switch, without a major IT project.

Answered briefly
Can SelectLine optimise inventory automatically?

Only to a limited extent. The order proposal tops up to the target stock once the minimum stock is breached. You maintain both values by hand per article, and there's no forecast. An inventory optimisation like EazyStock closes that gap, computing on your SelectLine data every night.

How does EazyStock get the SelectLine data?

Via read access to the SQL database, secured through our gateway with no open port. Approved order proposals come back through the interface Toolbox, i.e. the official SelectLine route. Go-live in 4–6 weeks.

Does EazyStock replace SelectLine's planning?

No, it adds to it: forecasts, up-to-date parameters, prioritised proposals. Whatever your purchasing approves lands as a document in SelectLine's purchasing module.

The problem

Ever run into this in SelectLine?

Four points where SelectLine's planning hits its limits. With links into the SelectLine help portal so you can read up yourself.

1

You maintain minimum and target stock by hand.

With the "Stock" planning type, the minimum stock decides whether an order is placed and the target stock determines the quantity. You enter both values per article, and with the location module even per site and warehouse. If lead times or demand shift, your entries are out of date: the order proposal then computes cleanly with the wrong values. The larger the assortment, the more master-data maintenance becomes the actual planning work.

2

The order proposal computes backwards.

The formula is honestly documented: an order is placed when stock plus open orders minus reservations fall below the minimum stock. What's missing is the forward view. A forecast that projects trend and upcoming demand per article doesn't exist in SelectLine. You plan with yesterday's state and only notice demand changes once they've arrived in the warehouse.

3

Seasonal articles run on the same fixed values.

A minimum stock that fits in March is wrong in October. SelectLine knows no seasonal curves: either you re-maintain the values several times a year, or you hold peak stock all year round. In practice it's usually the latter, and the capital sits unused on the shelf for ten months.

4

"Demand-driven" only helps with known demand.

The "demand-driven" planning type (from Platinum) schedules cleanly whatever is already in the system as an order or production order. Anonymous stock demand, i.e. everything customers have yet to order, stays on min/max. And nobody works out how high minimum and target stock would need to be for it. That's exactly where inventory optimisation begins.

The consequences

Where does that lead for you?

Manual planning via min/max is error-prone. We know the pattern from many intro calls:

Out-of-stock situations. Reordered too late: the revenue on that article is gone.
Planning firefighting. You're constantly chasing it and putting out fires in purchasing.
Hours of ordering. Your to-do list is long. Your order proposal is much longer.
Rush orders at bad terms. Express freight and tiny quantities eat your margin.
Excess inventory. Too much of the wrong articles ties up your capital.
Outdated minimum and target stock. Your values don't account for changes in demand.
No transparency. You don't know which articles to focus on.
No clear stocking policies. Everyone buys differently: there are no clear rules in planning.
The solution

Can it be done better? Of course: with EazyStock.

EazyStock computes on your SelectLine data and answers exactly the four problems above. Your team keeps ordering in SelectLine.

Answer to 1

Up-to-date stock parameters.

Safety and reorder stock per article are recalculated every night, derived from your target supply capability. Min/max maintenance is gone.

Answer to 2

Real forecasts per article.

Trend, seasonality, outlier cleansing: EazyStock computes forwards instead of backwards and adapts when demand shifts.

Answer to 3

Seasonal articles detected automatically.

Demand patterns are classified per article, and seasonal curves flow directly into the proposals. The minimum stock breathes with the year.

Answer to 4

Upcoming demand, planned in today.

Promotions, projects, expected extra demand: you enter them as a forecast adjustment. The order proposals move with it before the shortage becomes visible.

The connection

Read via SQL, write back via the Toolbox.

SelectLine runs in-house or at your hoster. Our connector reads at night through a secured SQL access and writes order proposals back via the interface Toolbox, i.e. the official SelectLine route.

01

Provide SQL access

Your IT or your SelectLine partner sets up read access to the database. We supply the exact field and table list.

Your effort: approx. 1–2 hours with your SelectLine partner
02

Connect the gateway

The connection runs through our secured gateway: encrypted mesh, no open port to the outside. Then we configure mapping and business logic and run test runs.

Your effort: a few clarifying questions, no developer needed
03

Nightly operation

Every night, articles, demand and orders flow to EazyStock. Approved proposals come back through the Toolbox as documents in your purchasing in the morning.

Your effort: none in regular operation
Nothing is ever written directly into your database.

Reading is via SQL, write-back exclusively through the interface Toolbox. A manifest prevents duplicate documents, even on repeat runs. We include customer-specific adaptations and extra fields from your installation in the mapping. We monitor the runs, and alerts go to us.

Behind it stands EazyERP, our middleware.

Field mapping to the EazyStock spec, value substitutions, warehouse mapping with roles, a quality gate against the run: what the connector does every night is configured instead of hard-coded, and traceable for every run.

FAQ

Common questions about SelectLine and EazyStock.

How long does connecting SelectLine to EazyStock take?

The SQL access is set up with your SelectLine partner in 1–2 hours. Then come data import, configuration of your business logic and test runs: expect 4–6 weeks to go-live, depending on data quality and assortment.

What do we need to do on our side?

Provide read-only SQL access; we supply the field list. Your IT or SelectLine partner handles that in 1–2 hours. No installation in SelectLine, no developer. We take care of the rest.

Does the system write into our SelectLine database?

No, never directly. Reading is via SQL, writing exclusively through the interface Toolbox, i.e. the official SelectLine route. And only what your purchasing has approved. A manifest prevents duplicates, even on repeat runs.

Our SelectLine installation is heavily customised. Does it still work?

Yes. Extra fields and customer-specific adaptations are the rule rather than the exception with SelectLine. We know the data structures in detail and include your specifics in the field mapping.

Does EazyStock replace SelectLine's planning?

No, it adds to it. Forecasts, stock parameters and order proposals come from EazyStock; ordering stays in SelectLine's purchasing module. Your team keeps its familiar interface and processes.

What does it cost?

The SelectLine connector is part of the EazyStock project, not a separate interface development. Rollout projects start at around €5,000, and licence costs typically start at around €1,000 per month.
